How Our Journey Began

"Inspired by a pup named ECLIPSE"

My story is a wonderful story filled with years of happiness and joy unfortunately ending in heartbreak but a important lesson on how valuable life is.
It starts with a 85 lbs, full of energy lap dog named Eclipse. Those who know what a lapdog is understand how wrong that sounds and to those who don't know what a lapdog is; it is a dog that loves to constantly lie on their owners’ lap which is not supposed to be 85 lb dog.
I am talking about my blue nose pit-bull who acted as if he was 20 lbs.
Now because of the reputation of pit-bull, his size and his aggressive bark people thought he was vicious.  People would always be surprise after they got to know him it was the total opposite.

What I Had To Say

Because he was a pit-bull he had a lot of energy instead of him using all his energy inside the house I would take him out for two to three walks a day.
Now, I don't live in a rural area in fact I live in the Bay Area. In which the Bay Area is known for San Francisco and Oakland which are the main cities. The city I live in within the Bay Area is a cross between a downtown area and the suburbs. I say that to give you an idea of the variety of surfaces that I walk my dog on.
Streets, grass, dirt, mud, sand and rocks a lot of different things but nothing like being out in the country.  Now most people could guess my dog was an inside dog which means he stayed in the house a lot. Being that he was an inside dog, to keep my house clean I always wipe his paws off after every walk because there's no telling what he walk through. Wiping his paws off was a big concern for me because we live in a city like area, the majority of his body would stay clean unlike in rural areas.  The main source of him tracking dirt into the house from outside was his paws. So to protect the cleanliness of my floors, my furniture and my bed I will constantly wipe his paws off.
And I know some are thinking to themselves why not just keep him off the furniture.
And I would tell those people trying to get a 85 lb dog off furniture is an action that eventually breaks the furniture.

We Have A Special Relationship

Any how my method of cleaning his paws was to use a wet paper towel. Which is quick and they can frequently be used but I would run through paper towels very fast and I don't feel they were cleaning his paws as effectively as I wanted them to.
So I tried to find another solution on the internet. Unfortunately, paw cleaning products that I saw on the internet wouldn't work either. Whereas I felt a paper towels was quick and easy but did too little I felt the other products on the market would do too much and didn't seem like something you could effectively and frequently use three times a day.
Luckily I have a BS in mechanical engineering from San Jose State University. So I got on my computer, opened up my CAD program and started designing.
This is where the story gets sad.
Eclipse passed away.
So for two years anything that had to do with dogs I was not interested, especially my invention I started designing inspired by Eclipse.
During COVID-19, like everyone else I have had extra free time.  During my free time I started going through some old designs.  And I came across the design for this paw cleaner that I never completed.  So, I felt inspired to finish the design and get this product out to help other dog owners.
